Generations Collide Doing Business
If you are a baby boomer and share your working space with the under-30 crowd I am betting that you think those young adults are not getting enough work done. You may even feel the same way about your younger generation children.
Think again! It is true they may create funny videos during lunch or throw a pizza party when they complete a project. It does look as if they are frequently playing. The truth is they are getting work done; they are just doing it differently and too many of us baby boomers fail to understand that.Besides, generations do not always understand one another which is too bad because this is probably the first time in history where four generations converge in the workplace and that may cause problems.
As members of Generations X and Y face an office of boomers, they usually start to chafe.Too many restrictions. These women and men have watched their parents sacrifice for their careers and they want more balance and freedom.Boomers, on the other hand, do not understand why anyone would leave at 5 p.m.if there is still work to be done.
Good communication among generations is the answer according to the experts. To get the message across you first need to understand the differences among the four generations. My task here is not to give you a stereotypic description but to inform you about the traits and preferences that generally apply to each generation. This may help you understand the other generations just enough to make a huge difference in your work and family.
Members of the oldest generation, born between 1925 and 1946 are called traditionalists. They tend to be hard working, used to taking direction, and have a strict moral code.
Baby boomers born between 1946 and 1964 tend to display loyalty to their company, assume that working overtime is a given, and believe that they can make a difference by working together.
Gen Xers, born between 1964 and 1982, tend to care more about autonomy, seek a balance between work and home, and look out for their own interests first.
Generation Y, born between 1982 and the late 1990s, and also known as Millenials, grew up with technology. They are similar to Xers but more optimistic, fun seeking and flexible. They are also the most coddled of all generations.I tell you this because if you're a traditionalist, born before 1946 or one of the early baby boomers, you're going to be facing others that have different workplace values and were influenced by different cultural phenomena. They may think differently and see life slightly different than you.As a rule, they were pampered more and used to getting their own way.Kids born before, during or right after the war didn't have that luxury.
Of course these generalizations have to be tempered by knowing the individual's work habits and personalities which may not be related at all to the time slow in which they were born. But just knowing a few things about each generation should cut down on needless family and workplace arguments.
And if you are a baby boomer you have a head start because you have more experience and can more readily manage your life across the generation gaps.
You certainly can do business with any and all age groups. And it's not my purpose to stereotype the ages but I do recognize the differences.Recognizing and understanding those differences helps me communicate well with people of all ages. That makes me more successful in my business.Take this little tid bit and be more successful in your business.

How to Incorporate in Nevada!
A mistake that people often make before forming their business entities is assuming that they must incorporate in the state with which they reside. There's nothing further from the truth. In fact, many people choose to incorporate their businesses in other states to gain more benefits, more protection, vs.'keeping it simple' by incorporating in their home state.
Why incorporate in Nevada? Here's the main advantage:
It's extremely difficult for anyone to pierce your "Corporate Veil.
" Your personal assets would experience less exposure in a corporate lawsuit. This is especially important in today's litigious society that is only going to get worse in today's tight credit markets.
First, what exactly does "piercing the corporate veil" mean? When you form a corporation you must follow certain corporate formalities. If your corporation does not comply with all relevant corporate rules and regulations, keep accurate records of meetings by minutes, or if the corporation commingles funds, your board of directors, officers and shareholders could be held personally liable in the event of a lawsuit."Piercing the corporate veil" refers to having personal assets exposed in a corporate lawsuit.
How does Nevada feel about this?Nevada has a tough attitude about piercing the corporate veil, which is why major corporations domicile in Nevada.Essentially, Nevada says that unless they can prove fraud, your corporate veil will not be pierced! That provides an awesome degree of protection for your personal assets.
Hire a planner with experience.Don't rely on word-of-mouth advice to get you through the process.Because many people make mistakes with the paperwork and fees, you'll want to hire someone with experience who will not only walk you through the process but also walk with you.Find a company that has been in business for over 10 years, has nationally-known professionals that endorse the company on their web site, that have date testimonials, ideally video and audio also plus under the 'about us' section on their web site, there is information about the 'face' behind the company.
Once you've hired someone to help you form your corporation, you'll need to have the following information:
1.
The type of entity. There are at least 6 choices and your problem is you have an 83% chance of picking the wrong entity!
2.Your Company Name.Do a little research ahead of time to ensure that your company name is not used by another corporation.Otherwise, your company name will have to be modified to distinguish itself from other businesses, causing delays.
3.The name of the manager of the LLC or director of the corporation. This is typically required to file the article of organization or incorporation.Keep in mind, an LLC may be managed by managers or by members.Make sure who you work with understands the difference and what is best for you. Most do this improperly.
4.The address of the manager or director. This may seem simple but there are nexus (business presence) issues with this decision that should not be taken lightly.
5.Obtaining the EIN number.Who will sign the SS4 application and provide their SSN.
6.Type of Business. Are you going to operate a retail establishment, a service company, or another type of business? You'll have to list the business type when you file your papers.
7.List of Officers and Their Addresses: President, Vice President (optional), Secretary, and Treasurer.(Note: One person may assume all of these offices within the corporation.) The good news about Nevada corporations is that officers don't have to live in Nevada or be U.S.citizens.This provides greater flexibility when forming a corporation.
8.The steps to foreign register (qualify) to do business in your state of operations. That means more than likely the bank account, business license and office location will be the state where you conduct business even if you incorporate in Nevada.
Knowing how to incorporate in Nevada will prevent speed bumps that cause delays.Don't gamble with your livelihood. If you want to get your business off to a running start, avoid the common filing mistakes so you can focus on building a lucrative, profit-making company.

Has The UK Gone Compensation Crazy?
It is being hailed as an American trend that has taken off in the UK, much to the dismay of many.Compensation claims are being made for all types for reasons by all types of people. Is this unreasonable and why do people claim it if its not purely for financial gain?
Well, much depends on the extent of what has happened, the hardship it has caused and whether or not someone else is at fault. Many claim that the compensation culture has gone too far because claims are being made for trivial reasons where people need to take responsibility for their own actions but, instead, prefer to do things mindlessly and then make a compensation claim if something goes wrong.
There are occasions where people simply do not apply common sense and this leads to all manner of problems that they then try to make compensation claims for. This has led to all products being sold with idiot proof instructions on how they should be used. This covers the manufacturer against any future claims.
However, there are many more serious issues at stake and ones which nothing short of a decent compensation payout would cover. We may think the advert of the woman slipping on spilt water is silly but if that were you, if someone had spilt the water and not bothered to clean up, if you had slipped on it and injured yourself, who would pay your utility bills or your food bills or your mortgage whilst you were off work for months, recovering?
These are the questions that bring many people to the decision to make a compensation claim.Accidents and injuries cause people to need time off work and not everyone is covered by insurance that allows them to do this, whilst still being able to maintain a home and family.
There are, of course, many occasions where human error brings a person to claim compensation. For example, in a hospital, where we put our lives in the hands of the doctors, there really is no room for mistakes.Yet, for whatever reason, it still happens.A woman in hospital died after being given penicillin by doctors even though her medical notes clearly stated she was allergic to it.
Because this was an obvious error by the administering doctor, the family are entitled to claim compensation. This is less about the money and more about apportioning blame. This is often a sticking point for families in the course of their grieving. If you know someone's mistake has caused the loss of a loved one then of course you want them to answer for it and also to provide answers as to why it happened.
Everybody knows that mistakes are made, that accidents happen, yet hospitals, particularly in the Western world, should be far enough advanced these days so as to ensure that medication and procedures are checked time and time again to avoid this sort of tragedy. It is too late for the woman and her family but if the hospital is made to answer for the actions of the doctor then maybe the action will make them more astute in the future and prevent a further occurrence.
Until a different method can be found, compensation claims will continue to be made so that answers can be provided and people can get by whilst sick or injured through somebody else's negligence or lack of thought.
